The Age of Technology

So Delaney really needed to get on the computer the other night and check her facebook page. She was not giving up (which she usually doesn't) so I took the photo opp. They learn to use computers so young these days!

Over the hills and through the woods...

To grandmother's house we go! Delaney spent the night out for the first time on Saturday night! I went to a bachlorette party for one of my best friends who is getting married next weekend and my mom has been wanting Delaney to spend the night so this was the perfect opportunity for her first sleepover and I will even admit it's probably way past time. I will say its not a lack of trust that she hasn't spent the night or because I didn't think Delaney would do great I just love being with her so much that I want her here when I wake up in the morning! Everything went perfect and Delaney had a blast going for walks and playing with my mom's dog (who she also loves). There will definitely be more sleepovers to come now that we have gotten that first one over. I snapped a quick picture of Delaney with her overnight bag before her first big night away from home just so I could remember it! We also went to the zoo last week for the first time like I mentioned before. Delaney loved being outside and strolling around but she didn't really seem to notice the animals very much. David and I however had tons of fun walking around and seeing everything. I also got some pictures of Delaney's latest milestone of pulling up by herself. She is doing great and is growing up to fast!

The dog pant

Delaney always makes this funny noise just like a dog panting when she gets excited or when she sees someone she likes. It's pretty funny and we want to make sure we remember it before she moves on to another noise and doesn't do it anymore! This was before bedtime one night. She usually does it on her own but this time we were directing her so we could get it on film...

8 months old!

My baby is already 8 months old! I can't believe it and I would like to request for time to SLOW down! Ha, I know that's silly but this first 8 months has gone by so fast and I know she will be turning one before I know it. Delaney is such a happy baby and has already brought so much joy to our lives. She is pretty much always in a good and happy mood and loves to smile! She smiles at pretty much everyone and LOVES to watch people. We went to the doctor actually the day she turned 8 months and she was 14lbs 6.5oz. Still little but hitting all her milestones and then some and eating great! This month has been a really eventful one as far as Delaney doing lots of new things all at once. Delaney here are the things you are up to at 8 months:

- You can now crawl up and your knees (for about 2 weeks now) and are pretty fast (you scooted on your arms before)

- You have started pulling up on things (I found you in your bed a couple of weeks ago up on your knees looking over the the bed at me so we lowered you mattress that night!)

- You are also sitting yourself up from the ground now as you crawl and no longer really fall over while your sitting up

- You will move your feet and take a few steps now while we hold your hands

- You sill LOVE the dogs but Mazi is by far your favorite dog and you show it by the way you smile and watch her and don't do that for Gracie

- You love to swing on your swing out back and would stay outside forever

- You usually sleep from about 9pm-8am (sometimes 7:30am)

- You never nap if we are out shopping or if you are in your stroller (I think you are afraid you will miss something)

- You will still go to pretty much anyone and are happy with anyone that is holding you (Mommy is hoping you stay like this!)

- We have been working with you on the bye bye motion and you usually do it with your hand even if you forget to put you arm out

- You are saying Da da, na na, and I think I may have heard mama but not on a regular basis yet ( I think it was an accident but hopefully soon!)

You are such a joy and we love you so much! We also went to the zoo for the first time the day you turned 8 months so I'll post on that soon. Another first for you is you are spending the night away from mommy and daddy for the first time tomorrow night with G-Ma. She is really excited to have you all to herself tomorrow night. I know you will do great! Anyway we love you lots baby girl!

Lots of family visits!

We have been busy these past couple of weeks visiting with lots of family! We started of with a visit to my Dad at my grandmother's on father's day. We had a great visit and Delaney LOVES her Papa! Then we headed home and visited with David's mom and dad that night. We had a great time and Delaney had so much fun hanging out with her Papaw and Mamaw. A few days later we headed to a Braves game for my anniversary present to David. We had so much fun and it was so hot! After the game we headed to David's sister Staci's to spend some time with their family for a couple of days. We had such a great visit and had fun swimming and eating some great food! Delaney loved hanging out with her cousins and they had fun with her too. We can't wait for another visit! Here are some pictures from all of our visits!

July 4th!

We had such a fun and busy July 4th this year! We started the day with BBQ for lunch at our house and it was so good. We all got a little nap in and then we headed over to Helena for the July 4th festival they were having. It wasn't to crowded when we were there so we walked around for awhile and saw everything and then we let Delaney ride in a real baby swing on a real playground for the first time. She loved it of course and just sat there and checked everything out. We headed back home to let her get another quick nap in and then it was off to see my cousin Kara who was at another July 4th party. We had some more great food there and Delaney swam for a little bit with everyone and then we headed off to meet Daddy for the fireworks in Homewood. We got a great spot and it was so fun to see all the neat things they had set up. Delaney loved the fireworks and watched them in amazement! Anyway we are so thankful to live in this country and for all the men and women who fight for us to be able to live in such a great free country! Hope everyone had a great 4th and here are some pictures from ours!

P.S.~ We have also been visiting tons of family and friends the past couple of weeks so I'll post pictures from those visits soon! I'm a little behind because we have been gone a lot.
