Georgia Aquarium

Right before we went back to school we got to visit the Georgia Aquarium with my cousin Kara and her soon to be husband Jon. We also met a new friend named Michael, who is going to be in Kara and Jon's wedding with Delaney. They are going to be the flower girl and the ring bearer so we thought it might be fun for them to meet before and play. Delaney loved him and had tons of fun at the aquarium. She calls my cousin Kara, KK, and Delaney is really close with her. We are so excited that Kara and Jon are getting married and love them so much.

We had never been to the Georgia aquarium and it was really neat. Delaney was so tired from the drive she fell asleep before we finished seeing everything. Micheal's grandmother works at the aquarium as a shark diver (how cool is that!), so we got to have a behind the scenes tour. We saw all the huge sharks being fed and we got to go to all the touch tanks in the back. I was really neat and something we would not normally get to do. Delaney had a blast and still talks about how Michael is going to walk down the aisle with her in KK's wedding. I blogged about how well Delaney did in the last wedding she was in recently and I'm hopping we can have a repeat performance of that! Ha! Well see how that goes! Here are some pictures of the trip and Delaney with Michael...

Earrings, finger paints and mouse ears!

One milestone event in a girls life that Delaney recently experienced was getting her ears pierced! She had talked about it for a little while but I never really considered it until I started talking to some moms with older girls. Several of them talked about how they wished they would have gotten their girls done when they were younger because they were scared to do it when they got older and it was just more of a pain then. So I bit the bullet and let Delaney get hers done. I was so nervous and I'm so glad now that I let her do it. She did perfect and only cried for about 30 seconds after. They are doing great and we are done cleaning them for the 6 weeks.

She also got some finger paints from her Aunt Traci and I let her have at it after school one afternoon. She was so pumped to paint away and was so proud of her work!

Waiting to get her ears pierced!

About a minute after they were pierced!

Family Visits

We had some great family time this summer before we started back to school. My cousins girls were staying with their grandmother while their parents were on a trip and they got to come down to visit for awhile. Delaney LOVES getting to spend time with them and she things she is such a big girl when she is around them. They are great with her and entertain her so well. They all helped run their own little "restaurant" out of Delaney's kitchen and were cooking up a storm! We can't wait until we get to see them again soon. We have also been to a couple of Lia's soccer games since then and gotten to spend some more time with them. Here are some pictures from our visit this summer.

We also got to go spend some time with my grandparents right before school started back. Delaney love getting to spend time with them and she absolutely loves my Nana! She is so good with Delaney and tells her stories and reads her books just like she did when I was little. Delaney gets spoiled everytime we have a chance to see them. We love spending time with family and can't wait to see them again soon!
