Christmas recap!

We have had a very fun and busy Christmas this year! I'm going to recap all of our Christmas trips into one post and put a few pictures from each one up. Christmas day we woke up about 8:00am and let Delaney walk out to see what Santa brought. I was really expecting her not to notice anything but she actually seemed pretty excited and went right over and started checking out all the new toys that were laid out. We hung out Christmas morning and my mom got up early and came to check out what Santa brought before we left to go visit with my Dad. We headed to my Dad's and got there about 11:30 and had brunch. It was so good and we always are excited about Susan's cooking on Christmas day! Delaney was actually sick the day before Christmas Eve and was still sick on Christmas but she still managed to have a good time. She got lots of money and clothes at my dads and a bag of just little stuff to play with. The bag consisted of aluminum pans, dish sponges, cups, some nerf balls and some animal figures... Let me tell you she LOVED the bag of just stuff to play with more than anything! My grandparents and Susan's parents came over to see us as well so we loved getting to see them. After we left my Dad's we headed over to David's parents to see them and exchange gifts. She got some more money and a precious sock monkey (Papaw picked it out himself and did a great job!) After we left there we headed home and rested for the rest of Christmas night as a family.

We had Christmas at my moms on Christmas Eve. We went over around 2:00 so we could do all our presents before her whole side of the family came over that night for dinner and gifts. Delaney got a whole summer wardrobe and her first cabbage patch doll. It's actually a "cuddly cabbage patch" so the only hard part on the doll is the front of the face so it's great for her now. She also got a big chair of her own that we actually have now returned and replaced with one of the anywhere chairs from pottery barn kids which she loved in the store. Then mom's side of the family came over and we had a great dinner before opening more gifts. Delaney is one blessed little girl and got so many toys! We love getting to see all of our family! David and I came home put Delaney in bed and watched some Christmas movies after Santa came to visit.

We had Christmas with the Brizendine side of the family at Traci's house in Gadsden. It was such a blast! We all met at a restaurant first and ate together and then went back to Traci and Todd's for presents and dessert. Delaney got tons of good things from everyone and had a blast hanging out with her cousins. One really cool thing I got was a braclet with Delaney's fingerprint in it. We fingerprinted her at her birthday party and then Traci had it made into a bracelet. She also got a light up talking cell phone, lots of clothes, and a great new diaper bag/backpack with her name monogramed on it. Delaney wasn't super excited to open presents this year because she still didn't really get all the excitment but she had fun watching us get exctied! We had a dirty santa swap with all the adults and we had so much fun stealing gifts from each other. We can't wait to see everyone again soon! Overall we had the best Christmas yet (except for being sick) I want to make sure Delaney knows the real meaning for Christmas and that it's really all about the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ and not just about presents! Anyway we had such a blessed Christmas and hope everyone else did too!
