Meeting the Backyardigans!

My mom got us a family membership to the McWane Center for Christmas and we have gotten her money's worth for sure! Over Spring Break the Backyardigans came to visit the McWane. Delaney talked about seeing them for at least a month before we actually went to see them and was so excited about it. My cousin Kara went with us as well and Delaney was so excited she was with us. We got there a little early before one of their scheduled visiting times and she saw them at the front of the line as soon as we got there. She was jumping up and down, so excited to see them them the whole time we were in line. We waited for about 40 minutes or so and then it was our turn. Well Delaney acted like she didn't even know she was in line to see them. She DID NOT want to go near them, and I think they were a little bigger than she expected up close. Well we were getting a picture with them one way or another after standing in line that long, so I took the picture with her. I asked her if she wanted to give Pablo five and she responded, "No I not want to touch him!". She talked about them afterward so I guess she still thought it was fun that we saw them even if she wanted nothing to do with them right then!

Potty Training Fashion Show!

Delaney has been doing pretty good with potty training. She has been wearing big girl panties at school for about a week with only a few small accidents. We are trying to be consistent at home since they are doing so much work with her at school and she is doing so well. I am always nervous taking her out in public in her big girl panties though. Pull ups did not work with her at all because she just thought they were the same as a diaper. Anyway she is SUPER proud of all her big girl panties she picked out and insisted Mazi sit with her friends the other night so she could show off all her panties. She would hold up each pair and tell them what was on the panties and then carefully put them back in her pile and get a new pair out. It was pretty funny and Mazi was a really good sport!

Loving the weather!

We have been having the best weather lately and taking full advantage whenever we can! Delaney loves being outside and I'm pretty sure she would sleep outside if I didn't make her come in. I took some pictures of my sweet baby girl the other day while we were out just for fun. It is so hard to get good pictures of her these days because she is always on the go. If you tell her to smile you get the worst fake smile ever, so you have to wait around to catch the real ones! Anyway I just wanted to share a few of my favorites from our park adventure the other day!

Bryant's visit and Build-A-Bear!

Delaney's cousin Bryant came to visit a few weeks ago before he had to leave to have leg lengthening surgery. He was born with a rare condition and has already undergone many surgeries to lengthen his leg. This one is a major surgery and he will be in Baltimore for about four months. Delaney was sooooo excited to hang out with him before he left and I'm pretty sure he is on the top of her cool people list! He is so good with her and always takes time to play with her. He rode with us to the mall after church and he was trying to teach her all about money and what each thing was called. It was HILARIOUS to listen to their conversation. Delaney had no clue what he was talking about so when he would ask her something she would just start laughing hysterically. He was so confused about why she was laughing and not answering his questions! Delaney's Aunt Staci took Bryant and Delaney to build-a-bear while they were here. It was Delaney's first time and she had a blast! The only thing she was a little confused about was when you put the heart in the back and they ask them to do all this stuff with the heart like, "rub the heart on your head". Well Delaney thought that request, especially from a strange lady, was absolutely absurd and politely declined to do so. Her face was so funny! She loved every other part though and we will definitely be going back sometime. We had a blast on their visit and can't wait to see them again!

Random Stuff!

I had a few pictures I just wanted to add for our memory purposes. We celebrated my birthday a couple of months ago and me and David went to dinner at The Bright Star in Bessemer. We LOVE this place but usually only go maybe a couple of times a year. I was so good, as usual! The last picture I just liked because it shows Delaney's sassy side! She is loving her sunglasses these days and sometimes even wears them inside. The story behind them: she HATES for the sun to be in her eyes in the car and will talk, or I should say yell, at the sun "YOU BRIGHT SUN!" It's pretty funny and I'm pretty sure she thinks that yelling at the sun isactually going to make it stop shining in her eyes! So we got some sunglasses to fix the problem and they seem to do the trick!
