A new first and big news!

Well to start off I am going back to school to get my master's degree in teaching. I am trying to work everything out for fall but it is kind of late so I'm not sure if everything will get done for me to start that soon. If not I will be starting school in the spring and I'll be going to Montevallo. The program is 18 months and I will go full time and keep Delaney on my off days. I'm really excited about this new journey in life and I think this will be so great for our family! Having the same schedule as David, getting to stay home with my babies during the summer, and working with kids will be awesome!

First Delaney actually took a step the other day while we were practicing standing up by our self. I don't count it was walking or anything I really think it was an accident and she sat down right after but I know it probably won't be to long. I would be perfectly fine with her being floor bound and not up on her feet for a couple more months! We had some errands to run after church on Sunday so mom and I took Delaney to the mall to get some stuff done. I had been meaning to let her ride the carousel last time we were there and I totally forgot so we got to do it this time! She LOVED it and just laughed and stared at everything the whole time. Delaney has this funny thing about holding on to things like she going to fall out and I swear we have never dropped her or anything. For example when you pick her up in her car seat she will hold on to the sides like she is on a ride and its really funny so needless to say she knew how to hold on the the carousel like a champ! I stood right there with my hand on her but she was fine and held herself on the whole time... Some pictures from that adventure.

Stuck!

The other day I peeked in to check on Delaney while she was napping and found her with her leg sticking out of the crib all the way up past her knee and her lovie covering her face. I of course thought it was hilarious so I ran to get my camera and proceeded to take a picture. A little while later I heard her wake up so went in to make sure she could get up ok. Well what did I find but a baby with her leg STUCK in the slats of her crib. I stayed calm at first but after quite a few tries could not get her leg out. I ran to get the phone to call David and that's when she realized she couldn't move so then she started freaking out too! David didn't answer when I called so I had to figure something out and was a little panicked once she started crying. Well after a few different positions with her I finally managed to get her leg out. She was fine and I think was really crying because she couldn't move and not because it hurt. So needless to say the bumpers went back in her crib as soon as they were out of the wash!

Mommy's little helper!

Delaney has been helping me out with a few household chores like cooking and emptying the dishwasher. She figured it was the least she could do since she is getting older!

9 month post

Delaney was 9 months old on Friday so I'm a few days late on this post but the pictures were actually taken on the 15th and our doctor appointment was actually on her birthday this month! She is learning so fast and is doing so many new things everyday. Here are some things you are doing at 9 months:

- You are crawling all over the place and are really fast at getting where you want to go

- Still taking 4 bottles of 6oz and you eat usually 2 or 3 solid meals a day and some snacks in between

- You have become obsessed with your Daddy and want him all the time (you love me to but if were together you would prefer he hold you)

- You are pulling up on anything and everything and we have to watch you every second or something will end up on top of you

- You are still in 3-6 and 6 month clothes

- You wear a size 2 diaper

- We recently bought your first pair of walking shoes (pedi peds) and you love them and will actually leave them on your feet but have now figured out how the unvelcro them so you can eat the straps!

- You have two teeth (the bottom middle) which both came in about a week ago

- You are starting to laugh all the time and you now will look at things and laugh without to many stupid gestures from mommy and daddy

- You love feeding yourself especially puffs and yogurt melts

- You are starting to grow hair and I can actually put a little bow in it without it falling out

- You still love your puppies and they are always around you

- You are now in a big girl car seat as of a few weeks ago (rear facing of course)

- Your favorite toys are still things you shouldn't play with like remotes, anyone's phone, and electrical cords (needless to say you are watched like a hawk at home!)

- Your little personality is so fun and happy almost all the time but you will make it known if you are not happy about something

- Stats: Weight 15lbs 7oz (4%), Height 27in (35%)

Happy 9 months little monkey! We love you so much and love being your parents!!

Mac's Birthday!

We went to Delaney's "boyfriend" Mac's first birthday this past weekend. David and I along with Mac's parents agreed before they were born that they would be a couple (and they do make a cute couple I might add!) Anyway everything was great and Delaney had a lot of fun playing with all the kids. This was her first kids birthday to go to and she did great! They had baby pools set up outside for the kids and that was a big hit. Here are a few pictures from her first party and Sarah Grace here are a couple of cute pictures I got of Mac man! (Notice her Auburn dress in the pictures, we are very excited about football season!)

Also Delaney finally cut her first tooth and then another just a day or so later. The first one finally popped through around Tuesday of this week. They are the bottom two teeth and her right bottom one was the first to come in. She is not big on sharing her new development so I'll try to get a picture when I can!

Trick or Treat

I have already been thinking of what I want Delaney to be for her first Halloween. I got online a couple of weeks ago to look and get some ideas and found the perfect costume! Since her nickname here at home is "monkey" I thought it would be very appropriate for her to be a monkey. I found this monkey costume and just loved it! I am so excited for her to wear it!

Then the next weekend David and I went to some of my other friends Leah and Zac who got married and Delaney went to Ashely's wedding with my mom (a Zarzour family wedding) They we both beautiful and I snagged some pictures that other people took of Delaney at both. Congrats to all the newlyweds!

Beach trip #2

I'm a little behind on posting but we took a beach trip with my mom a couple of weeks ago and had a blast. We even got to have dinner with the Kimbles and their little cutie Morgan while we were there. Also Brent and Stephanie and David's dad were there too. A funny story that I wanted to write down so I remember it. The first day we were at the beach we wanted to show Delaney (or Monkey as we like to call her these days) the beach. Last time we were at the beach she wasn't that excited about the sand but we thought that since she's really mobile now that she might change her mind. Well not exactly but she didn't cry or anything she just looked a little concerned. I asked David to sit her up on the shore where the water barely came up so I could take a picture. At my request he proceeds to sit her more in the middle of the surf instead of up on the shore. Well before any of us could get to her a wave came and literally washed her up on the shore. I mean floored her straight back flat on her back and swept her all the way up where the water stops. Before I give any more detail just let me say that Delaney was perfectly fine physically not even water in the mouth or anything but I have never seen my little girls eyes get so big. The sad part was watching her as the wave came to take her out she was just sitting there and had not even a slight clue what was about to happen. I felt so horrible and I'm sure people around us were thinking what kind of parents are they?! So needless to say she was done with anything to do with the sand even taking pictures away from the water. She did love the pool as always and really didn't have a problem with the ocean as long as you didn't put her down! We had so much fun and are so glad we got to go and see everyone! Her face in the picture of her in the sand says it all!
